Ms. Pasha, a former college teaching assistant and professional LSAT/ACT/SAT tutor, combines her love of teaching with her experience as a claims professional and audit trail consultant/expert to provide unique and valuable instruction, in a way that legal professionals can understand. Whether you’re a plaintiff’s or defense attorney, basic audit trail analysis is a must-have skill. Audit trails are here to stay; they are the future of medical malpractice discovery.

Learn the fundamentals of how data is entered, stored, and retrieved in an EMR database, what kind of data is required to be in an audit trail, and beginner analysis of Epic and Cerner audit trails, the two most popular EMR systems. This is a two hour course.

This class will only cover analysis of audit trails - no conceptual background information. Student should be generally familiar with audit trails and have reviewed a few prior to taking this course. We'll go over 1 audit trail from Epic, Cerner, Meditech, a smaller clinic-based system, a PACS system, and an OB system. This is a two hour course.

• Friday, June 16th from 1- 3 p.m. from 1-3 p.m.
This course is a combination of the beginner and advanced class with the additional topic of drafting supplemental discovery requests based off audit trail findings. This is a five hour course.
• Wednesday, June 7th from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
• Saturday, June 10th from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
This class will explain how to interpret Epic audit trails with at least 3 different fact patterns and mock audit trails. No experience reviewing Epic audit trails required. This is a two hour course.
• Wednesday, June 14th from 10 a.m - 12 p.m.
• Monday, June 26th from 5 - 7 p.m.
This class will explain how to interpret Cerner audit trails with at least 3 different fact patterns and mock audit trails. No experience reviewing Cerner audit trails required. This is a two hour course.
• Tuesday, June 13th from 5 - 7 p.m.
This course will break down the technological concepts you need to understand to take effective deopsitions, how to detect potentially evasive responses, and what kind of information/knowledge someone in this position should have. Mock questions and ideal/poor responses will be reviewed. This is a one and a half hour course.
• Thursday, June 1st from 4 - 5:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, June 28th from 4 - 5:30 p.m.
This course is designed for defense counsel to understand both audit trails and EMR technology to effectively prepare the coprorate representative for their deposition (from a defense perspective).
Mock questions and ideal/poor responses will be reviewed. This is a one and a half hour course.
